We would like to highlight how pivotal volunteers have been during this time by celebrating their contribution. We will do this by holding an in-person award ceremony, with guest presenters from the local authority and other public services and of course the volunteers and organisations themselves. As in previous years we are continuing to offer goody bags and hampers that we have provided for the last 3 years will continue as we know how welcomed they are. They will include such things as coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, crisps (things that people most likely won’t be buying for themselves at this time) and lots more but we also understand the importance of socialising and the importance of interacting with other people. Using local community facilities also helps us support them and gives them the recognition they so clearly deserve. This year marks the 40th anniversary of volunteering and we want to make it extra special for the volunteers and organisations this year. Our “Oscars” event will be held in the Town Hall in Saltcoats and has kindly been offered to us from NAC for the night. TACT will also be providing hot drinks and a buffet. Due to the success and responses from the volunteers the last couple of years, we are once again hoping to provide a gift bag for all volunteers nominated containing various items such as chocolate or sweets, some home decorative accessories and also items with positive statements. Volunteers will be nominated in 6 different categories and one of these volunteers from each category will be selected by an independent panel to be an overall winner of that category and will be provided with a hamper which will be filled with more goodies. At the moment we do not have a final number of volunteers as organisations are still submitting nominations but in previous years we have had in excess of 100 volunteers being nominated. We don’t have any costings for this event as any money raised will be divided by every volunteer nominated, the more funding and donations we can raise means more ‘goodies’ can be put in the bags and hampers.

We are looking for funding to help us bring in specialists and local Alternative Health Practitioners to our group, eg, Chair Yoga,Mindfulness, Reflexology,Psychologists, etc. We would like to invite speakers to our group eg, GP's,Pharmacists, Nutritionists, Physiotherapists,Long Covid Scotland,Chest Heart Stroke, MP's. If our numbers increase we may need to look at an alternative venue (in another town)and possibly an evening to suit group members. The Library currently provide the room and Tea/Coffee. We would like to visit any other Long Covid Groups eg, Greenock or Universities or organisations undertaking research in Long Covid and look to purchase up to date books on Long Covid.

We would like to get support to help us publicise our group, posters, leaflets, and help us with social media to get the message out about us, and help support more people living with Long Covid.

"New roof needed for our scout hall material and fitted : 32 x 32 metres long width 8 metres pitch MDF roof sheets , Stripwood mouldings , rood felt , bitumen roof sheets , ridge piec3es , screw nails. Any donation of materials will help the group in a lot of ways making the hall wind and weather tight for all that use it in the community."

Any contributions to rebuilding the lamlash toilet beside the Pier would be much appreciated. We hope to rebuild it in 2024/5.

The group are looking for a metal storage container, either 20ft or 32ft to allow us to store all the equipment we have amassed. The equipment is currently scattered among the group members for safe keeping. SeaSalt Streets have identified a suitable site close to the town centre for the container and, should we succeed in securing one, will apply to North Ayrshire Council for the relevant permissions. The container must be water tight although the condition of the exterior is irrelevant,(we have successfully funded and erected 3 murals!!!) Although we don't have a timescale, the sooner we secure permanent storage, the more projects we can tackle.

SeaSalt Streets are trying, in Wish 1, to secure a steel storage container. In the event of one becoming available, we would be looking for someone to transport it to site. Assuming the supplier if Wish 1 cannot transport it.

In order for us to be able to utilise the three external (but internal to the school) garden spaces, the areas need to be safe - they are not currently safe. After a site visit last year, Robertsons's the Builders helped us to map out the key priorities for each zone: Garden 1 Slabs need levelled Removal of base that had been used to secure a green house. Shrubs removed Mare's tail removed - extensive growth. Access from Tunnel needs looked at Access from stairs at PE. Garden 2 Disability access- none Removal/Making safe stone sculpture Removal/Transformation of rocky area in middle of the garden. Garden 3 Established Grass needs cut Poly tunnel repaired Raised slabs due to roots of large tree.

Sponsorship or fundraising support

We host out home galas at the Portal in Irvine 3 - 4 times a year. These events/galas are over 2 days and attract 300-400 swimmers from the North of Scotland as well as supporters and coaches. Due to the energy crises and rising fuel costs our pool hire costs have also gone up. We are looking for sponsors who could donate funds to host these galas. In return we will offer various publicity options depending on the donation/sponsorship offered.

Food (donation)

This is to cater for our traveling officials who attend our galas. They are offered a hot lunch and we would be happy to accept any catered ideas to supply these meals.

Sponsorship or fundraising support

We require a 20' Shipping Container to house our Tandems for safe storage. We have a site already in place, but need support to raise the funding to purchase a secure unit to store our equipment. Any support you can offer will make a big difference to our group!
