The road that leads to our establishment is filled with potholes that our incoming injured or frightened animal patients have to endure on a daily basis. Our volunteer couriers traverse this road several times a day, and not only is the condition of the road damaging for our patients, it's damaging the volunteers' vehicles too. We would welcome advice or support to help us repair the road, and we can provide photos of the current condition of the road on request.

The IT system here requires not just a software update but a hardware upgrade. Our operating software is Windows 7, and while it 'works' for the time being, we are concerned about it failing in the near future, and are worried about loss of files. We want to maximise the benefits of going digital and shift from our current paper approach.

Our team have requested high quality cleaning equipment such as rubber sweeping brushes, Safe4 disinfectant, fairy washing up liquid and an electrical power washer would really be a huge help in the daily tasks of our staff. In addition to this, the rate at which we go through waterproof trousers, rubber gloves, latex gloves and wellington boots is tremendous! Therefore, we would really benefit from a supply of high quality outdoor workwear in a range of sizes as well as some cleaning tools mentioned above

Our sewing machines and overlockers are heavily utilised by people who do not have their own, and require regular servicing to keep them in good working order. A routine service costs £75 for a sewing machine and £85 for an overlocker, and we would appreciate any financial donations towards the costs of maintaining our equipment in good working order

Our next project is to make cushions for children and adults in Ayrshire Hospice and the Beatson over the Christmas period, specifically cancer patients who may be in isolation. We are looking for 50 cushion inserts of various sizes? We have some Christmas fabric but could do with some more to complete 50 cushions, so donations of any festive fabric would be great!

Sponsorship or fundraising support

We are looking for a van/ice cream van/ambulance to convert and be our mobile craft van allowing us to take our workshops all over North Ayrshire. We would welcome donations or sponsorship towards our fundraising goal.

The hall of the Church of the Nazarene, in which the Foodbank is based, is a Category C historic building. The hall is need of renovation in terms of floors walls and roof along with internal redesign to better fit its role to support the Foodbanks work. WE have a concept design which we require to be completed by professionals with architectural capacity to 1) Allow them to be sued for planning requirements 2) to cost how much the work would require so that we can make the proper funding applications. There is no deadline.

We would like exterior paint so we can paint our outdoor beds making them last longer. We have 181 outdoor beds and many in poly tunnels and outdoor growing areas for the community. We would be happy to have 10 cans of paint if possible or as many as you can for our volunteers to work with.

We would love to be able to support our children to fully access our local community and engage in education trips during our sessions. A financial contribution could help with travel, being private bus hire. Entries fees into places of interest.

Three rolls of photography paper studio backdrops 2.72m x 11m. (Black, white, grey ) This is used on our metal hanging frame to create a seamless vertical to horizontal backdrop for photographing people or items. This is used in the studio photography element of the club. The set up allows the club to store, assemble and use the backdrops both in the Community Centre and other locations. Studio photography is a less strenuous form of photography and is quite relaxing. With an ever ageing membership there is a need for less physical photography such as landscape and wildlife. The club offers its members a mixed programme of lectures, members' nights, practical evenings and competitions. The philosophy is to encourage members to help one another with an informal exchange of ideas. A Bowens fit 120 or 130cm octagonal soft box to use in studio photography lighting systems. This fits onto the mains powered studio light and creates a soft light for photographing people. This is used in the studio photography element of the club. The set up allows the club to store, assemble and use the lights both in the Community Centre and other locations. We are trying to develop and bring back to life a pond within the Garrison House grounds to improve the eco system and to enhance a place of natural beauty and provide a site for learning about wildlife for our local primary school pupils, and a sensory space for residents from our local care home who can enjoy the sights, smells, flora & forna. The area offers, as well as being an attraction for visitors, a space to be enjoyed by our community. Our staff are working on improving the area right now (pictures can be provided) but need shrubs, rockery plants to enhance the area developed and encourage wildlife - bees, butterflies etc. The area we have available is probably about 100 square metres and we are really keen to plant out the area this summer, if possible.

As above our pond project is what we hope to achieve and the 2nd part of the project is to put a lining in the pond to allow us to have it filled all year round as opposed to only having water in it when we have heavy rain. This can allow us to improve the wildlife, hopefully have fish added to the pond and enhance what Garrison House grounds offer. A pond lining would allow for this and the area we would be covering would be approx. 100 square metres. To enhance the project it would be amazing if we could also line the pool this year which would allow us to immediately improve the natural environment offered within Garrison House Grounds to our wildlife.

Any financial assistance towards the development of the pond project would be hugely appreciated, to allow for the purchase of plants/shrubs, hopefully pond plants to aerate the water for fish. Purchase of equipment to keep pond clear / cleaned and upkeep of area from a garden maintenance point of view.
