Whitehirst Park – Parent Council LOCALITY
Kilwinning Wish 1
Type of wish
Request for voluntary time from contractor - general (e.g. helping at an event, general labour for a project) What do you need?
The Parent Council is seeking a contractor to design and construct a dedicated school uniform storage area to support the operation of our pre-loved school uniform initiative. Note this will be a small storage area - similar to a IKEA PAX System. Depending on configuration, we estimate this would be equivalent to 2 or 3 units.
The proposed storage facility will provide a safe, secure, and accessible space for collecting, organising, and distributing donated school uniforms to families within the school community. Creating a purpose-built storage area will improve the sustainability and efficiency of the scheme, ensuring uniforms are kept in good condition and are readily available to parents and carers when needed.
This project supports our commitment to reducing the Cost of the School Day by helping families access quality school clothing free of charge or at a significantly reduced cost. It will also promote environmental sustainability through the reuse and recycling of school uniforms, reducing textile waste and encouraging responsible consumption.
The benefits of this initiative extend across the wider school community. Families facing financial pressures will have access to essential school clothing, whilst pupils will benefit from a greater sense of inclusion and belonging. By investing in a permanent storage solution, we can ensure the long-term success and accessibility of the uniform exchange programme for current and future generations of pupils and their families.
Funding for the contractor will enable the creation of a durable, fit-for-purpose facility that will support an established community resource and deliver lasting social, financial, and environmental benefits.

North Coast Wish 1
Type of wish
Financial (donation of money) What do you need?
1. Suitable and Secure Trishaw Storage
At present, both of our trishaws are stored in an exceptionally compact shed.
As our fleet and equipment have grown, this arrangement has become increasingly challenging. We would like to improve and secure our storage facilities so that our trishaws, batteries and associated equipment can be stored safely, securely and appropriately.
2. Sustainable Booking System
Our service relies on an effective booking system to manage requests from individuals, care homes, community groups and other organisations.
We are seeking sustainable funding to maintain and develop a reliable booking system that will allow us to manage the increasing demand for our service efficiently.
3. Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs
Our trishaws are essential to everything we do. Regular servicing, maintenance and repairs are therefore critical to keeping our service safe, reliable and available to the community.
We would like to establish a long-term maintenance budget so that essential servicing and repairs can be planned rather than relying on ad-hoc fundraising whenever costs arise.
4. Volunteer Clothing and Equipment
Our volunteers are the heart of our organisation. We would like to provide branded clothing for our volunteer pilots and support team.
This would give our volunteers a professional and recognisable identity within the community while also helping passengers, families and partner organisations identify our team easily.
5. Promotion and Community Engagement
Although our service is already generating considerable demand, we want to ensure that people throughout Largs and the surrounding area know that Cycle Without Age Scotland is available to them.
A sustainable promotional and community engagement budget would allow us to:
Increase awareness of our free service
Build relationships with additional community organisations
Attend local events
Develop partnerships with care and support organisations
Reach people who may benefit from our service but are currently unaware that it exists
