Irvine has been successful in securing a UK Government award under the Plan for Neighbourhood programme. The funding award provides £20million of investment in the town over 10 years.
Funding Directed through a Neighbourhood Board
The funding required the establishment of a Neighbourhood Board comprising local people, businesses and political representatives, who developed a long-term Plan for Regeneration.
Irvine Neighbourhood Board
In line with North Ayrshire Council Cabinet approval received in 2023, and with the membership requirements set out by UK Government, it was agreed that the Neighbourhood Board be a sub-group of the existing Irvine Locality Partnership.
Volunteers from the Irvine Locality Partnership were requested to serve on the Neighbourhood Board. In line with UK Government guidance, local Elected Members, the local MP and the local Senior Police Officer were also required to be members of the Neighbourhood Board.
