The Flying Start Toddler Group operates three days per week and is open to all in the community with children three years and under. We provide parent and child sessions to promote friendships and a sharing of experiences among adults, and activities to promote the wellbeing of babies and children. The group members have the opportunity to engage in activities that are otherwise unavailable to them due to financial constraints. The members benefit from companionship, support and social interaction and the opportunity to form new friendships whilst enjoying a cup of tea and a snack.
By supporting the parents and carers to bond, form attachments and play with their child the child's health and wellbeing is improved and they thrive in a safe environment. This early intervention results in better outcomes for all. The babies and children have the opportunity to mix with children of their own age and stage of development and this leads to learning how to socially interact appropriately with others.
