The Three Towns have been successful in securing a UK Government Award under the Long – Term Pride in Place Programme. The funding award provides for £20million of investment in the towns over 10 years.

Funding Directed through a Town Board

The funding requires the establishment of a Town Board comprising local people, businesses and political representatives, to develop, oversee and deliver a Long-Term Plan for regeneration.

Three Towns Board

In line with North Ayrshire Council Cabinet approval received in 2023, and with the membership requirements set out by UK Government, it was agreed that the Town Board is a sub-group of the existing Three Towns Locality Partnership.

Volunteers from the Three Towns Locality Partnership will be requested to serve on the Town Board. In line with UK Government guidance, local Elected Members and the local MP and MSP are also required to be members of the Town Board with final membership to be confirmed by Summer 2026.

The Board will develop a Regeneration Plan for the Three Towns for submission to UK Government for approval in Winter 2026.

As the Board is established and the Regeneration Plan develops further information including the Standing Orders, Terms of Reference, minutes and list of Irvine Town Board members will be found below.

Appointment of Three Towns Board Chair

The first step in establishing the Three Towns Board is the appointment of a Chair.

The Chair should act as a champion for the place and local people, organising engagement that reaches out into the community, to ensure decision-making is community-led. The Chair will lead the process of recruiting and convening the Board, with the support of the local authority and the local MP.

Applications are invited from anyone who can fulfil the required criteria and a full role description and Expression of Interest form can be accessed from the links below.
