Keeping the Promise implementation plan

The ‘Keeping The Promise Implementation Plan’ aims to significantly reduce the number of children in care. It outlines plans to introduce a national allowance for foster and kinship carers, provide a £200 grant each year for 16 to 25-year-olds with care experience and redesigning the Children’s Hearings System.

Persistent poverty stable

A new report states that between 2016 and 2020, one tenth of people in Scotland were in persistent poverty after housing costs. Persistent poverty identifies individuals who live in relative poverty (have a household income of less than 60% of the UK median) for at least three years out of the last four.
