Irvine Town Board

Irvine has been successful in securing a UK Government Award under the Long – Term Plan for Towns Programme. The funding award provides for £20million of investment in the town over 10 years.

Funding Directed through a Town Board

The funding requires the establishment of Town Board comprising local people, businesses and political representatives, to develop, oversee and deliver a Long-Term Plan for town regeneration.

Irvine Town Board

In line with North Ayrshire Council Cabinet approval received in 2023, and with the membership requirements set out by UK Government, it was agreed the Town Board will be a sub-group of the existing Irvine Locality Partnership.

Volunteers from the Irvine Locality Partnership were requested to serve on the Town Board. In line with UK Government guidance, Elected Members, the MP and Senior Police Officer are required to be members of the Town Board.

The Town Board held its first meeting on 1st August. The Standing Orders, Terms of Reference, minutes and Town Board members will be published after the conclusion of the first meeting.

‘Your Town’ – What are your needs & priorities?

The Town Board must prepare a Long-Term Town Plan, developed in consultation with the local community and will submit proposals in late 2024.

Part of this process is to engage with the local community to establish local priorities and develop projects. We will be hosting events and engagements over the next 3 months.
