Council house tenants are being urged to have their say on proposed rent levels for next year.
Consultation has opened on the setting of Council house rents, with any changes due to come into effect in April 2026.
Many people are continuing to feel the pressures of the current economic climate and the cost-of-living crisis, so it is crucial that tenants have their voices heard on any proposed changes.
Two rent increase options have been developed and both options include investment in priority areas over the life of the 30-year plan such as home improvements, investment in our sheltered housing units, building new homes and buying back former council houses.
The indicative average rent increase for each of the remaining 28 years of our 30-year business plan is 3.84%.
Tenants can take part in the consultation online by visiting and taking the short survey. This should only take a few minutes to complete. https://forms.office.com/e/qUukZZhzb0
