Garnock Valley Helping Hands provides high quality pre-loved clothes and equipment to families who are struggling to make ends meet.
We take in donations of baby clothes and equipment from the public. We are very fussy about what we take, clothes and equipment must be good quality and not marked or damaged. It is all checked, cleaned and made ready for our customers. The goods are re-packaged in our branded boxes for delivery. We do deliveries once or twice a week. All our work is undertaken by volunteers
Our customers come through referrals from health professionals who are working with them. In particular the vulnerable family midwife team, social services and health visitors.
There are items which cannot be recycled, like cot mattresses, baby bottles or nappies. We apply for funding to cover the costs of these and also the training and mileage costs that are incurred by our volunteers.
