Support for action on fireworks and pyrotechnics

The feedback received as part of a public consultation on the Scottish Government’s Fireworks and Pyrotechnics Bill has been published. It shows high levels of support for the introduction of a new offence to criminalise the supply of fireworks to under-18s and the introduction of a fireworks licensing system.

Domestic abuse: statistics recorded by the Police in Scotland – 2020/21

Statistics on domestic abuse recorded by the police in Scotland in 2020-21 have been published. The police recorded 65,251 incidents of domestic abuse, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year. This is the fifth year in a row this figure has shown an increase.
