Irvine Locality team have shared their latest Irvine Community Conversations and online engagement update – correct as of May 2026.

Laying the foundation for a new Irvine Locality Plan, the 2025/2026 Community conversations were guided by the Irvine Locality Partnership as part of regular public meetings and online engagement sessions between January 2026 and March 2026.

The purpose of the sessions were to shape action plans and contribute towards the development of Irvine’s Locality Plan, focusing on:

  • Empowering the community to drive local priorities
  • Town centre regeneration
  • Mental health and reducing poverty

Key partners involved in the insight included North Ayrshire Council’s Community Learning and Development service (Irvine Locality Team), North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership, Ayrshire Community College, North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Police and Scotland and North Ayrshire Council.

Between January and March 2026, 454 participants from across our communities attended Community Conversations overall and residents also had the opportunity to engage online. Find out the key themes identified and actions that will be taken forward in the Irvine Community Conversations presentation. This can be viewed here

For any questions in relation to the new Irvine Locality Plan, please contact the team: irvinelocalityteam@north-ayrshire.gov.uk

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the engagement process.

Findings are now being reported back to the Irvine Locality Network to agree a Locality Action Plan and identify both short, medium and long term plans for North Ayrshire Council and Community Planning partners. This will be presented to Irvine Locality Partnership in June 2026.
