Ever wondered about a publicly owned building or piece of land that you think could be used to achieve something special for your community? Community Ownership Support Service (COSS) Advisors David Henderson and Lynn Molleson will deliver two free webinars for groups in North Ayrshire over the next few weeks to help you decide whether your community really should or can do something about it.

The webinars will be based on COSS’s ‘Module 1: Introduction to Community Asset Transfer’ which you can read and download here.

Webinar 1: Monday 29th June, 3pm-5pm (with a break)
David and Lynn will explore the legislation behind community asset transfer, your rights and some of the barriers as well as the benefits of a successful asset transfer. In the second half of Webinar 1, they will look at the issue of ‘eligibility’ and what being a ‘community controlled body’ means. Ideally have a copy of your governance document to hand. Finally the session will end with a Question and Answer session for your questions.

You can find out more information and register for webinar 1 here.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Webinar 2: Thursday 2nd July, 3-5pm (with a break)
David and Lynn will look at the core stages in an asset transfer process and how you can access support with community engagement, business planning, feasibility studies and funding. There will be input from North Ayrshire Council on their Community Asset Transfer process.

Each webinar requires separate registration, register for webinar 2 here. We will also re-send the link to register for webinar 2 once you have attended the first webinar.

If you wish to discuss these webinars in advance please contact David Henderson of COSS on 07496 957019.
