North Ayrshire Local Housing Strategy 2017 – 2022

Consultation on the North Ayrshire local Housing Strategy 2017 – 2022.

Consultation end date: 18 April 2017

Over the last 18 months, the Council’s Housing Service (in partnership with colleagues from other departments and external agencies) has been developing the North Ayrshire Local Housing Strategy 2017-2022. The strategy covers a wide range of issues such as rural housing, housing for older people and people living with disabilities, private sector housing and homelessness. The strategy also sets the housing supply targets for the next five years.

The consultation draft of this strategy is now available for comment for an 8 week period, between 22 February 2017 and 18 April 2017. All supporting documents referred to, are available from the Council’s website (http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/Documents/PropertyServices/HousingBuilding/local-housing-strategy-2017-22.pdf)

The strategy will be presented to various Council groups during the eight week consultation period. If you wish the Local Housing Strategy to be presented to any external group, please contact us.

As part of the consultation process, you are invited to review this strategy and provide  any comments you may have. All feedback received will be collated and the strategy updated as appropriate.

UPDATE 14/08/2017:

North Ayrshire Local Housing Strategy 2017-2022

Following public consultation between February and April, a final draft of the North Ayrshire Local Housing Strategy 2017-2022 (LHS) has been completed. During the consultation period, feedback was received from various respondents, including: tenants, residents, registered social landlord representatives, the Arran Economic Group, Shelter Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and team managers within North Ayrshire Council and the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

During the consultation period, the draft strategy was presented to:

The North Ayrshire Sheltered Housing Forum,

The North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership Strategic Planning Group,

Business Planning Implementation Group,

North Ayrshire Network, and

NAC Housing Services, Service Development Day (All housing managers took part in this event).

The final draft of the LHS will be submitted to North Ayrshire Council’s Executive Leadership Team before being presented to Cabinet for approval, autumn/winter 2017/18. Once approved the strategy will be hosted on North Ayrshire Council’s website.
