North Ayrshire Council has agreed to develop a new community campus at the Ardrossan North Shore site. This represents a fantastic opportunity to positively develop a vacant site in the heart of the town, with huge educational benefits for pupils, and new facilities for the local community.
The campus will sit within a wider development including housing, commercial uses and a new coastal path. The development framework which is the subject of this consultation proposes what is seen as the optimal layout for the site.
The consultation provides the opportunity to share your views on the proposed development framework. Comments received during the process will be considered before the framework is presented to the Council’s Planning Committee. A summary of all of the comments received and a response will be provided to the committee and made available within the committee report.
There will be additional opportunities to comment on more detailed proposals (i.e. the design of buildings) as planning applications are submitted for parts of the site in line with this framework at a later date.
- The proposed development framework can be accessed via the following link: Development Framework Public consultation
- A text version of the document is also available here.
The development of the north shore site is part of a wider £150M regeneration programme including Ardrossan Harbour, new housing, an extended marina, and new connections which together has the potential to transform the town over a 5-10 year period.
Any comments on the framework should be emailed to regeneration@north-ayrshire.gov.uk. The consultation period will be open until Friday 9th April 2021.
Virtual drop-in sessions are being arranged to give more information and support in participating in the consultation. To register your interest please email regeneration@north-ayrshire.gov.uk Details of the sessions will then be shared with you.
